I have just looked at my last blog in it was in JULY!!!! Time is just flying by.
This weekend I am shooting another poetry film for the version film festival. I decided to shoot a poem by Tony Walsh called Sometimes, it is being shot in Blackpool and Prestwich. I have decided for the first time i am going to use a DSLR, basicly a stills camera with video capability. The main advantage for me is the shallow depth of field. I love the way feature films can get that expensive filmic look because of the frame size.
Its like when you watch a making of video, they shoot it on video and it looks RUBBISH and then you see the final film cut, Brilliant.
Jimmy Foster (from cold feet, shameless) has said he will do the acting for me, which is great thank you Jimmy.
Right i am off to pick up my DSLR (EOS 5DMK2) and prime lenses, probably a 85mm and a 120mm f1.8 should do. Did i say i was filming at night, i have no idea if this is going to work out, exciting isn't it. Film will be on the website early November.

And so it starts?
This is my very first blog, be kind to me. This blog is going to be a bit different, i am not going to tell you about how great i am and how perfectly everything turns out for me. No this is going to be an honest and detailed account of what it's like to be fighting a stroppy, self important, egotistical alien every day!
Just to put you in the picture the alien has been threatening to burst out of my chest for many years, and by alien i mean creativity and by years i mean er years.
Currently i have many projects on the go I have Static which i am very excited about see www.staticthefilm.com and also my Box Brownie project see www.davidwharton.co.uk, added to this i am going to choose another poem for the Comma Press Festival and shoot that before the summer (and sunlight) has gone. You see i told you i had an alien in my chest, that creative pressure that just keeps on building until you do SOMETHING creative then he (or she) decides to chill out and let you enjoy the peace for a while.
Anyway got to go now, i have an Electrical Testing Company to run in the morning, blog soon.
